Common Questions
Is this Western or Vedic numerology?
Western — this calculator uses the Pythagorean system, the same one behind most English-language numerology books and sites, reducing letters and digits to single numbers (with 11, 22 and 33 kept as "Master Numbers"). It's a different method from Vedic/Chaldean numerology, which assigns different values to letters.
What do Life Path, Destiny, Soul Urge and Personality numbers mean?
Life Path comes from your date of birth and represents your overall direction. Destiny (or Expression) comes from your full name and represents your potential. Soul Urge comes from the vowels in your name and reflects inner motivation. Personality comes from the consonants and reflects how others perceive you first.
What is a Master Number?
When a calculation reduces to 11, 22, or 33, Pythagorean numerology keeps it unreduced rather than continuing to a single digit, since these three are traditionally considered to carry amplified significance.
